Hello there Everyone.! Hope everything might be doing well in this pandemic. So here I’m back with another blog on Top 6 places to visit in Kolhapur.
Today we’ll be talking on the place where mostly everyone of you might have been visited once but most off you might not be knowing about the mystery of these locations.
So today we will be talking about these places to visit in Kolhapur.

1.) Shri Mahalakshmi temple :

Mahalakshmi temple is also known as Dakshin Kashi which is one of the Shakti peethas committed to Goddess Mahalakshmi.

In fact it is one of the peethas among the six of them wherein people from all over the world come to fulfil their needs.

 It’s started that it was built-in 700 AD.

 The 3-ft tall black stone idol of the goddess is worn with the aid of using valuable gems which weighs around 40 kgs.

One of the most popular festival celebrated over there is ‘Kiran Utsav’ which is celebrated twice in 12 months one in January and one in November.

Thousands of peoples accumulate there throughout the globe for prayers.

 Through the precise characteristic of the temple’s architecture.

The window from wherein the sunlight enters the rays immediately falls on the feet of goddess Mahalakshmi at the time of sunset.

It is also said that each of our needs are granted throughout this period.

2.)New Palace Museum:

This New Palace Museum is also known as Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Palace build in 1877-1884 which is one of the historic place in Kolhapur to be visited.

Mainly it is known for it’s historical and specifically grand interior design.

In this museum, some of their clothes and weapons are kept which can be the reason for re-visiting this place.

Their is also an entry fee which costs 18 for adult and12 for children.

3.)Jyotiba Temple:

This place holds the most mythical and religious significance for the worshippers coming over here.

Jyotiba is considered to be the incarnation (i.e avatar) of Lord Shiva, and one of the main avatar of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.

Each year on the two full moon days (i.e on Vaishakh and Chaitra) a big carnival is held every year.

Which attracts the locals and the people to pay equal importance and get travelled to Kolhapur.

4.) Rankala Lake :

Rankala Lake dates back to the 19th century and was constructed by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. 

Beyond it’s one among the oldest lakes in India. 

It’s a serene spot, filled with greenery and  cool breezes, ideal for witnessing a  soulful sunset.

The lake has derived its name from the Rankabhairav temple, an ancient temple which is constructed in the middle of the lake. 

Hence this place is the one of the the favourite tourist attractions for fun and adventure activities like horse riding and boating.

5.) Dream world water park :

Slide down within the water and play with the colourful water balls at the Dream World Water Park!

 Further more there are as many as 8 slides of various colors where you’ll splash and splurge the water and have a fun-filled time.

Beyond this, here you’ll swim within the sparkling deep pool or can just relax beside the shallow side of the pool.

 Not only this but you will also relish lip-smacking delights at the cafe that is built inside the park.

The starting entry fee over here is 500 per person.

6.) Panhala Fort :

Widely known as Panhalgad.

It was bulit in 13th Century by Raja Bhoja II.

The Panhala Fort is one among the foremost massive forts within the Deccan land, with  its perimeter stretching to 15 kilometers.

And therefore the fort stands at an altitude of over 2,700 feet above water level .

Several underground tunnels run from under the forts, many of which are quite long over a kilometer too.

The biggest attractions of the fort are the Teen Darwaza, Amber Khana, Sajja Kothi, Dharma Kothi, along side several temples etc.

But no wonder, it is one among the special places be visited in Kolhapur.
